Will is a rare books librarian working in the Foyle Special Collections library at King’s College London. Originally from Australia, he worked as a research librarian at the State Library of Queensland in Meanjin or Brisbane, on the lands traditionally owned by the Turrbal and Jagera peoples. For the last two years Will has tirelessly catalogued and made accessible the periodicals from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development office library collection, gifted to King’s in 2007. This collection details the administration of Britain’s colonial empire and was a working tool of a government that exploited Indigenous communities across the globe. Through participation in Local Context Networks and Working Groups, Will aims to support and advance work in Indigenous data sovereignty and the ethical management of cultural heritage collections.
