Local Contexts launched our Hub platform in beta in October 2021. Since then, we have welcomed hundreds of researchers, organizations, and Indigenous communities onto the Hub and, in turn, they have helped us improve the user experience.
We are now seeking platforms that have integrated or plan to integrate Local Contexts Labels and Notices into their information management products to help us shape the Local Contexts Service Providers program.
Who are we seeking to participate?
Any organization that has an existing digital asset management system used by museums, libraries, universities, Indigenous communities, or data repositories to manage Indigenous cultural and other heritage, genetic resources, and knowledge; and that has technical staff available to participate in the program from approximately May-July 2024.
Early Adopters will meet with our team and other early adopters over the course of 3 months to review use cases, test our API, provide comments on our certification program, and receive guidance on their integrations.
Why participate?
Systems that operationalize the CARE Principles, including implementation of the Indigenous Metadata Bundle and display of Local Contexts Labels and Notices not only raise awareness of Indigenous data sovereignty but also provide a means to take meaningful and productive action.
Organizations that complete the Early Adopter program through certification will get their name and platform listed on our Service Provider webpage. They will be highlighted in a blog post, and will have the opportunity to demonstrate their platform integration in a webinar for our Subscribers and Members. In addition, they will receive a discount on the first year of participation in our Service Provider program.

Contact us by 19 April 2024 at info@localcontexts.org indicating your interest. Please include the name of your organization, the name of the platform(s), and your key technical contacts. We will be launching the program at the end of April. We look forward to working with you!
