February 2026 Updates

Minor Update

On February 24, 2026 (US Pacific Time), the Local Contexts Hub will have scheduled service that could put it into maintenance mode for an extended time. If you encounter any issues, please let us know at support@localcontexts.org.

Important Changes

  • Subscription Renewals:
    • Added a button within the Subscriptions settings page for Institutions and Researchers to prompts the renewal of their subscription from the Hub. For Institutions, this also allows for the changing of the subscription size at the time of renewal.
    • A banner has been added under account cards on the dashboard for those whose renewal is available, leading them to the Subscriptions settings page to renew.

Other Changes

  • Sandbox: Institution and Researcher accounts can now test out the Open to Collaborate workflow by adding a link to see what this process is like in the main Hub. Download and share Notice functions will still remain disabled in the Sandbox.
  • Added a prompt for Communities to login and apply Labels to a Project on the view Project page. Only visible when not logged into the Hub.
  • Various UI updates and fixes.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where downloading a Project with special characters in the title returned an error.
  • Fixed a bug where Researcher accounts would receive a 500 error when trying to archive a Project.
  • Fixed a bug where adding a hand-drawn boundary to a Project returned a 500 error.
  • Fixed an issue where pressing the Enter key when adding names to a Project’s contributor section would delete previously added contributors from the list below.
