Who is eligible to become a Service Provider?
Any organization with a certified integration of Local Contexts API in their product workflows and systems to ensure ongoing trust in Local Context Labels and Notices.
Why become a Service Provider?
The Service Provider program is how you can learn how to use our APIs, provide input on our products and services, and communicate that your platform implementation of Local Contexts Labels and Notices meets community needs for trust and sustainability.
Systems that operationalize the CARE Principles, including implementation of the Indigenous Metadata Bundle and display of Local Contexts Labels and Notices not only raise awareness of Indigenous data sovereignty but also provide a means to take meaningful and productive action.
Service Provider benefits include:
- Increased utility of your products by Local Contexts Members and Subscribers
- Participation in Hub product development meetings
- For those that complete our certification process, a listing on the Local Contexts website certifying compliance with Local Contexts integration standards.
What are the responsibilities of Service Providers?
Service Providers are responsible for completing the Service Provider Agreement, paying an annual fee, maintaining their Hub contact information, completing the certification process, updating their integration to meet API requirements, and ensuring their Hub account integrity.
Hub Account Types
A service provider account is for organizations that offer platforms that can be used by users to organize or share collections or data. This includes collections management systems, digital asset management systems, repositories, and databases.
Are there Service Provider fees?
Service Provider fees are based on our goals to balance staff effort with our goal of building connections and communities that further Indigenous data sovereignty. The Service Provider fee is US$1500 per year.
All changes to fees are reviewed and approved by our Council, and per our Service Provider Agreement, we will provide at least 60 days notice of any Agreement changes.
