Who can become an Integration Partner?
Organizations that will integrate the Labels and Notices into a Digital Asset Management System (DAMS), Collection Management System (CMS), database, aggregator, or other system to facilitate their use by their customers, clients, and contributors can become an Integration Partner (previously “Service Provider”).
Communities and institutions integrating the Labels and Notices into their own internal systems are not considered Integration Partners.
Hub Account Types
An integration partner account is for organizations that offer platforms that can be used by users to organize or share collections or data. This includes collections management systems, digital asset management systems, repositories, and databases.
Why become an Integration Partner?
The Integration Partner program certifies that your platform’s implementation of the Local Contexts Labels and Notices meets expectations that support the integrity of the Labels, Notices, and Hub. Through the certification process, you can learn how to use our APIs and provide input on our products and services.
The benefits of becoming an integration partner include:
- Increased visibility of your platforms and products for Local Contexts Members and Subscribers
- Participation in Hub product development meetings
- Recognition on the Local Contexts website confirming your certification
Systems that operationalize the CARE Principles for Indigenous Data Governance, including implementation of the Indigenous Metadata Bundle and display of Local Contexts Labels and Notices, not only raise awareness of Indigenous data sovereignty but also enact pathways to take meaningful and productive action.
What are the responsibilities of an integration partner?
Integration Partners are responsible for signing the Integration Partner Agreement, completing the certification process, and updating their integration to meet API requirements. Integration Partners are also responsible for paying the annual fee, maintaining their Hub contact information, and ensuring their Hub account integrity.
For more information on the program or the certification process, visit our Integration Partner Guide.
What are the Integration Partner fees?
The Integration Partner fee is US$1500 per year. This fee is based on our goal to balance staff effort while building connections that further Indigenous data sovereignty.
All changes to fees are reviewed and approved by our Council, and per the Integration Partner Agreement, we will provide at least 60 days notice of any Agreement changes.
Integration Partner Early Adopters
Early Adopters met with our team and other early adopters over the course of three months in 2024 to review use cases, test our API, provide comments on our certification program, and receive guidance on their integrations. We appreciate their participation in and input on the Integration Partner program!
