Hawai‘i Institution/Researcher Network meeting
The next Hawai‘i Institution/Researcher Network meeting will be held September 30 UTC.
For this meeting, we will host a brief presentation orienting the group to Local Contexts Labels and Notices as tools for operationalizing Indigenous Data Sovereignty (IDSov). We will also work in breakout discussions about IDSov principles and terminology and to compile resources, knowledge, and goals that we hold collectively.
This meeting will be recorded for group members, and available to stream for one month following the presentation. If you are unable to attend but have feedback or questions, please email the outreach team at outreach@localcontexts.org.
Current members of the Network should have an email and calendar invite with connection details. If you are interested in the group, you can read more and submit your interest on our Working Groups and Networks page.
The Local Contexts Hawaiʻi Institution/Researcher Network brings together Native Hawaiian, immigrant, and settler participants who work in institutional or research capacities and live in and/or have connections to Hawaiʻi, who are interested in Local Contexts. The goal of this group is to support the momentum and interest for the use of Local Contexts in the region, whereby institutions and researchers can apply Notices, and collaborate with communities who have the sovereign right to apply Labels.
