Local Contexts Summit

May 10, 2023, 10am-4pm EDT

The first Local Contexts Summit will be held on May 10 in Lenapehoking (New York City). The Summit will bring together people from across the Local Contexts community with a focus on Indigenous authority, control, and governance in the archive and sciences. 

This day-long event will showcase the current and potential use of Traditional Knowledge and Biocultural Labels and Notices, as well as examples of implementation within communities and institutions.
