Outreach Manager

Emily Santhanam (she/her) is Outreach Manager at Local Contexts. She originally joined the team in 2023 as Outreach Coordinator (Americas), and has since grown her role to support multifaceted outreach efforts by cultivating and sustaining Local Contexts’ network of Indigenous communities, institutions, and researchers. Her goal is to support engagement with and promotion of Indigenous data sovereignty and cultural authority through the adoption of TK and BC Labels and Notices.
Emily studied anthropology and creative writing at Stanford University. Prior to her involvement with Local Contexts, she worked in research and curatorial capacities for cultural heritage organizations and museums.
