Europe & UK Network Meeting

The next Local Contexts Europe and UK Network meeting will be held November 26.

For this meeting, we will hear from Kiiza Wilson, the Founder and Executive Director of Bugungu Heritage and Information Centre (BHIC) in Uganda. In this talk, Kiiza will be sharing his work with Local Context, what it means to live between a national park and an oil and gas project as a minority cultural group, what the Bugungu Heritage and Information Centre is doing in the face of many challenges, and ultimately, what needs to be done in the future to ensure the continuity of Bugungu culture.

Current members of the Network should have an email and calendar invite with connection details. If you are interested in the group, you can read more and submit your interest on our Working Groups and Networks page.

The purpose of the Local Contexts Europe & UK Network is to connect Indigenous community members/citizens, institution and organization staff, and others located in/with connections to Europe and the UK who are interested in Local Contexts. Our regional networks are for participants with established connections within these areas, including Indigenous Peoples with both ancestral and contemporary ties to these regions.
