Indigenous Futures: Capacity Building for Data Sovereignty in Southern Plains

Local Contexts is thrilled to join an incredible lineup at Indigenous Futures: Capacity Building for Data Sovereignty in the Great Plains, presented by the Office of Sovereign Partnerships and Indigenous Initiatives at the University of Kansas. This three-day in-person event, February 3-5, will focus on advancing Indigenous Data Sovereignty (IDSov) with a particular lens for work in the Great Plains region of the United States. Participants will gain foundational knowledge about IDSov, explore tools and strategies for returning power to communities of origin, and discuss policy and procedural recommendations to operationalize data sovereignty principles.
