On December 3, Local Contexts Executive Director Stephany RunningHawk Johnson will present as part of a panel, “Where Indigenous knowledge and methodologies intersect with research infrastructure,” at International Conference on Research Infrastructures, held in Meanjin/Brisbane, QLD, Australia, with online participation available for those not invited as delegates.
This session will focus on the intersection of Indigenous research methodologies, tracing their evolution from past to present, with modern research infrastructure. It will explore the practicalities and benefits of supporting projects that hold higher relevance to local and Indigenous communities. This session will emphasise the importance of maintaining culturally sensitive research practices when integrating Indigenous knowledge into modern research infrastructures.
