Laurel L. Haak, PhD

Council Secretary, Governance and Operations Consultant

Laure (she/they) has two decades of experience fostering inclusive conversations and workspaces and building mutually beneficial communities of practice and technical platforms to support research and scholarship. In her current role as Founder and CEO of Mighty Red Barn, Laure supports non-profit and social benefit organizations in developing strategies for sustainable operations.  She brings to Local Contexts her collective experiences as founding Executive Director of ORCiD, and leadership roles at Thomson Reuters, The US National Academies, and Science Magazine, to develop a governance framework and business model, and operational infrastructure to nourish and sustain the initiative so that it can attain the change it seeks.
