Grounding Indigenous Rights in DataCite metadata

DataCite is an organization that provides and helps to manage and share DOIs (Digital Object Identifiers, a persistent identifier) for research data and outputs. By assigning a DOI, research becomes uniquely identifiable and metadata can be associated with it.

Guidelines were developed for how to represent the Local Contexts Notices and Labels in DataCite metadata. The recommendations make use of the Rights metadata property and its sub-properties to store relevant information.
